Leahann is the founder and executive director of Desert Scholar Reading Enrichment. She began her career as an elementary school teacher and transitioned to the role of academic interventionist shortly after completing her Master of Education. It was in this position that Leahann developed a true passion for helping struggling readers, and through collaborating with a colleague, she soon learned of the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham methods. She was fascinated and quickly hooked on this approach, going on to become certified as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. Leahann established Desert Scholar Reading Enrichment in 2017 as a private practice for delivering literacy interventions and providing support services to students and their families.
